Your Documents and Searches

Sift keeps case documents and searches on your computer. It does not send your documents, search terms, results, or case backups to Telophor or an online AI service.

Sift makes its own copies of documents added to a case. The working copies are not separately password-protected by Sift. A password-protected export protects the exported file, not the working case. Your computer’s security and any backup or file-sharing service you choose have their own protections and privacy policies.

Licenses and Purchases

Polar manages purchases, license assignments, downloads, and customer records. Activation and license checks send the license key and information identifying the licensed computer to Polar. They do not send case documents, search terms, or results.

Saved license information is protected by your computer’s security facilities. A lost internet connection does not revoke an already active license. Polar’s privacy information describes its handling of customer information.

This Website and Update Checks

This website and Sift’s update information are hosted through Amazon Web Services. A visit or update check provides the hosting service with ordinary connection information, such as your internet address and the page requested. The Sift site does not use analytics or website access logs.

Searching this guide does not send your search words to an online search service. This website does not accept case-document uploads.

Support Messages

Information you choose to send to support passes through the email or contact service used. An initial support message should not include confidential case material, passwords, or full license keys.
