Sift by Telophor
License Policy
Private Beta Access
Sift’s test version is available by invitation through Polar. Each assigned beta license supplies a personal key for one active computer. Beta keys work with beta versions and do not unlock the commercial 1.0 release.
Beta licenses have no expiry date.
Planned Commercial License
A purchased Sift 1.x license permits continued use of Sift 1.x on one active computer at a time. Updates within 1.x are included. Future major versions are separate paid upgrades. Public sales are not yet open.
The number of licenses in an order determines the price of every license in that order. Later orders are priced according to their own quantities. Prices are in US dollars before applicable taxes. Polar displays the final amount before purchase. Pricing lists the planned rates.
Activation and Transfer
The first activation requires an internet connection. After activation, Sift can remain offline without a recurring reconnection deadline. Ordinary updates do not use an additional activation.
A license can move to a replacement computer after it is released from the previous one. Settings contains the illustrated transfer instructions.
If a license is cancelled or revoked, Sift may require a valid replacement license. Cases remain on the computer. A computer that remains offline cannot immediately receive notice of a remote cancellation.
Case Documents and Responsibility
Sift does not change or delete the original files added to a case. Removing a case or document removes Sift’s own copies after confirmation.
Search results assist review. They are not legal advice. The original documents remain the authority for wording, context, and citations. A search can miss material that could not be read or that uses unexpected wording.
